VHS curriculum aligns with state standards and Core Knowledge. It is designed with input from both home-based schooling families and experienced educators to insure academic relevancy and ease of adaptability to each child’s learning needs. The curriculum for each of the core academic areas offers parents a choice to blend book-work, project-based learning and on-line activities to create the finest learning experience. Since parents are highly involved in the weekly planning of their child's academics, the make-up of the activities are tailored to each child’s distinct personality.
 

VHS values parent input. Families are encouraged to work with their elementary teacher to determine which curriculum options and learning methods work best for their children. Working together, parents and teachers insure that each child achieves their maximum potential. If there is other curriculum that has wide acceptance and proven pedagogical superiority beyond that presently offered, VHS will work with families to determine the possibility of adopting it as part of its curricular offerings.
